Movies

Over our anniversary non-trip, we watched the following movies, and my comments about them.

Hot Fuzz - a little funny, a little gory...cheesy
Definitely Maybe - cute love story...the guy tells his young daughter WAY too much about his past!
Fools Gold - good love & adventure story
I am Legend - not as bad as I thought it would be...the sick people were pretty creepy though!
Wild Hogs - funny! We watched it again tonight with Margaret & Richard.
Things You Can Tell Just By Looking at Her - a sad reality of what life is for many people. It had a great cast but NOT a feel good movie for sure!
Gross Pointe Blank - not bad, but I thought it was going to be comedy
Sweeney Todd - Hmmm, being that Tim Burton AND Johnny Depp were involved, I knew it would be weird. But it was a little more than just weird!

Friday we went to Hobby Lobby and Target then to Alfredo's in Yukon for dinner. That was yummy! Saturday we laid around some more, cleaned up the house, packed and headed off to see the boys. We got to Lawton late...after 8. It was good to see the boys. Funny how a worn out mom can be so heart sick for her sons. I took a nice 3 hour nap after a yummy meal at Ann's Country Kitchen and a drive through the wild life refuge today. I love being at my MIL's. ☺☺

I'll be taking pictures this week but probably won't blog much. Next week is back to school for JC & Brendan. I'm looking forward to getting back into a routine. They always help life to smooth out for me!

Happy Anniversary???

Well, I'm having a really hard time missing my boys. Looking at all the cute & fun pictures on my blog doesn't help!

Check out www.cozi.com for a neat way to share your calendar with your family members.

Wednesday JC & I went to Barnes and Noble for about 2 hours. Definitely something you don't do with a 2 year old! It was nice to peruse the books! I got a book on beginning knitting and some home school books and JC bought the Lord of the Rings book along with a few others!

Then we went to Old Germany. Can you say YUMMO!!! We had good beer, good food and good service. My kind of place...except the $90 that we spent there will keep me from going more often!!! ☺

Yesterday we laid in bed (the sofa sleeper) and watched Hot Fuzz, Definitely Maybe, Fools Gold and I am Legend. Then we went and ate shrimp at Pearls Lakeside and watched the sun set on Lake Hefner. A nice reminder of our honeymoon cruise! Then to the UCO Jazz Lab for an hour of good music.

We don't have much planned for today or tomorrow. Not sure what we'll do. Maybe we'll go shopping! ☺

Overall it's been good and enjoyable. Really do miss my boys though. ♥♥♥ Maybe 3 nights was too long!

Welcome Cameron Blake Polliard

Happy First Birthday

Check out this awesome cake my mom made! Cute & yummy, too!!!
Cameron stared at the cake for at least 20 minutes. He was fascinated by it!!!
(Top) Cameron & Gramma. (Bottom) Cameron and Great Grandma. Everyone checking out the cake and the 2 year old boy who wants to play with it really bad!

We thought for a minute that he was going to freak out with all these people singing to him. He just looked with a very stern expression on his face. FINALLY he was able to play with a tractor!!!

Side note: Don't buy balloons from the Dollar Tree. They pop easy. Really easy!
Isn't Bella cute in her pillow case dress Barbie made?!

Cameron tore into his gifts but after each one he didn't want to open anymore. He just wanted to play!!! Look at all this mess!

Happy Birthday, Cameron Blake!

Time to clean up for my Uppercase Living party!!!

Project Bathroom

So, this "little" project started just as a paint job. The wallpaper was pretty but because there was no vent in the bathroom, the wallpaper had started peeling. So JC added a vent and I painted. (JC helped smooth out the walls, too) Here are before pictures.

When JC took the toilet out so I could paint behind it, we made a small discovery. The previous owner had used liquid nails to secure the toilet to the floor (instead of replacing the broken bolts). So, when we pulled up the toilet, it broke some tiles. We couldn't find any matching tiles...so we re-tiled.
Now, keep in mind, the project was started at least 3 weeks before Cameron's 2nd birthday party and the tile issue happens on the Sunday prior to the party! UGH!!!
I painted all the white first and then used painter's tape to cover the white while I painted the brown. When I peeled up the tape, it took up most of the white paint and even began peeling the brown paint! I had to use a razor blade to remove ALL of the tape and then repaint the white!
All new hardware for the cabinets and a really cute bath set (it's sold at Target but I found all of this at a garage sale for $15!).

Oh, Cameron sure loves to help!

And, the day before the party we finally get it all together. Barbie made these CUTE towels for us.

Notice my Uppercase Living on the mirror! I made the window curtians!
Whew! Glad that's done. Now our bathroom is the nicest room in the house!
Here are our pictures (finally) from our float trip last month.

Our hot and crazy ride there:

It really was pretty

Model material, here. (He hates when I take his picture, so this one is a real rare treat!!!)

Happy 2nd Birthday, Cameron Blake

Cameron *found* his birthday present from Granny & Papa that we had "hid" in the back yard on the side of the house. He was so excited!!! He loves his new slide!!!

We met Barbie & Logan in Chickasha to get Princess (we're dog sitting), they had a surprise for the bir-tday boy.
How fun is THIS! I actually missed the best shot. Princess & Cami were having a blast chasing bubbles together but by the time I got back outside w/my camera, they were both distracted!
Cameron kept calling himself the "happy bir-tday boy" today...so stinkin' cute!!! He saw his gift from us this morning and kept asking, "Open birt-day present". So tonight we had ice cream after dinner and let Cameron open his gift.

Big brother helps put it together...
Oh boy, this is FUN!!!
He's been asking for one of these since he got to play with Walker & Wilson's several months ago!
Happy Birthday, Cami!
