Celebrating Cam!

 Cam got a lot of surprises for his birthday.  Daddy took him to see PawPaw who had fixed up the go-cart for him.  After some spins on that, he cooled off in the pool.

But one of the best parts was getting to go fishing with Daddy early on Saturday.  They fished for a couple hours and were about to head home when Cam caught his first-ever fish!  He was elated!!!

 After grilling hotdogs for lunch, we surprised Cam with a trip to the Museum of Osteology.  He loves this place and has been asking to go ever since we went the first time a couple years ago.

 And he asked for something lemon so I made him TWO pans of lemon bars.  It was a fun-filled weekend celebrating our Cam/CB/Peanut.  We love you, son, and we are so proud of the young man you are growing up to be!

Cam turns NINE!

 Today marks nine years since we had our second son, Cam.  It's been a fun experience being his parents.  This morning we celebrated with donuts and this afternoon, daddy gave him his birthday present: a Lego table that he designed and built!

Then JC whisked him off on a surprise adventure!

Zoo Day & Cam Cooks

 The first week of June, we got to use our new zoo pass with our friends.  It was a warm day but we had lots of fun seeing the herpetarium, the pachyderms, chasing a peacock and visiting the apes.

 The kids had lots of fun posing for pictures and even more fun playing in the water in the Children's Zoo.

 Except Lily.  She hung out with mommy and ate snacks.  Too many kids and too much noise for her liking.

 That night, Cam made Bubble Pizza for our dinner.  This was his second meal, the first one being "cows" in blankets.  He has shown interest in cooking and is excited to get into the kitchen.

Everyone loved his dinner, too!

Daddy & Cam Go Fishing

Two weeks ago, Cam and JC got up early and went to a city fishing event at a local lake.  Cam really had a great time, got a "free" fishing pole and can't wait to go fishing again.

Celebrating #7

 We celebrated Cam's 7th birthday at Gramma and Papa's house with an Ice Cream Party!  Lots of family and a few close friends.  Oh.  And lots of yummy ice cream toppings!

Bren played laser tag with the kids and then we played with poppers, silly string, chalk and bubbles.

Such a cutie, this boy of ours!

Granny and PawPaw came to help celebrate on Cam's actual birthday and Bella baked a special cake just for Cam!  What a sweet cousin! 

Seven? Yep, 7!

Seven years ago.  It's funny to think about who I was seven years ago. Who JC was back then.  And then there was Bren.  So young.  And then one day, our lives changed.  We welcomed this little guy named Cam into our lives.  And life as we knew it would never be the same.

We've moved once.  JC's changed jobs twice.  We've added 2 more children.  We became home educators.  We went through four churches to find a "home".

Cam has learned to read and tie his shoes.  He's lost one tooth - but it was a molar that the dentist pulled.

Cam loves to sing unto the Lord and even helps his dad lead worship at church.  He loves science fiction and fantasy and pretending to be either.  He is a great lego builder and can make some pretty great creations.  He loves animals and insects and he has a great memory for all kinds of weird facts.

Tiger Safari Birthday Party

Cam has asked for over a year to have a birthday party at Tiger Safari in Tuttle, OK.  So, that's what we did today for Cam's SIXTH birthday!

Gramma made this fabulous cake with a caracal and a serval just as Cam asked!  Cam impressed the tour guide by his knowledge of animals.  He's a smart kid, he is!

It was HOT today!  I think the high was 105.

Thankfully we rented the inside room and could cool off after the animal tour.

It really is a great park and Skylar, our tour guide, did such a great job.  She was so patient with Cam and the other kids.  A great day!  Happy birthday, sweet sunshine.
