A whole bunch of everything!

Blogging hasn't been high on my agenda lately. Seems like we're busy non-stop and so it gets pushed aside. But I love keeping track of our days and months and years. I love looking back on our special times and our adventures.  These are the things that make this life.  So, here's a hodge podge of the last three months. Bits and pieces of our story. Enjoy!
Bren's million dollar smile! (no braces!)
A little mid-week trip to Granny & PawPaw's.  Even near dusk in August, the pool is very warm!

Cait still loves Tin Tin.  I snapped this one night. She asked to stay up and read.  We found her a little bit later sound asleep with her book.
Matching pajamas thanks to Aunt Hilerey.  The girls love them!
Lily decided she loves riding her bike and we all went for a family bike ride (except Bren...whom we missed!)

Cait's first "turban" "like mommy wears". She was feeling pretty grown up!
What can I say?  My treasures!
Lily & Cait wearing daddy's (?) old cowboy hat.

School days are here.  Above, crafts. Cam made a walkie-talkie out of pipe cleaners and the girls tried to make window clings.  Below, history.  Cam's history, Veritas Press, is so much fun that Cait often sits to watch it!

 Sleeping beauty & Bunny-Bunny.
At the end of August, we met with some friends at the zoo.

We even got to watch the elephant show.  I'm glad we did because this cute little elephant got sick and died shortly after we saw him. Very sad.

One morning Lily was sitting at the counter. I asked her what she was drawing. She said the first one is Jesus on a cross and the second one is an empty tomb!
Another get together with friends. This time we filled our small house with over 20 people although it overflowed outside for a good portion of the time together. We enjoyed s'mores in August and an impromptu worship service.  Great times with great friends!

"Hello, my name is chocolate bar" says this beauty!
A non-hurried Saturday morning is unusual and must be documented!
Labor Day weekend we escaped to Lawton. Cait finally got to ride the go-cart and we enjoyed several swimming sessions.  Daddy's been working out and mommy got him to show off his guns :)

I got to go to the Women's Fun Shoot this year with Carrington & her mama.  We had a great time!
My dear friend made me this oh-so-delicious cheesecake for my birthday. Thank you for spoiling me!
I walked in on Cait & Lily giving Cait's pony a bath. I laughed, took a picture, and told them no more water or soap.  JC walked in a bit later and the bathroom was flooded into the bedroom carpet!  Oops!

The fellas went camping and the moms and girls headed out for breakfast at the Tea Room. We are very blessed that God has brought so many friends into our lives this year.
On Fluffernutter Day, we headed to the zoo with more friends. And of course, our fluffernutter sandwiches!
There are a couple more events that took place in between all these adventures but they deserve their own posts!

July's Summertime Fun

Finding fun to do in the heat of the summer can be tricky. To be honest, we've spent most of the month at home and only venturing out to visit friends or for the necessary errands.
My van battery died at the gas station and while we waited for Daddy to rescue us, we walked over to a nearby truck stop and passed our time.  I am so thankful Daddy's work is so flexible that he can leave when we need him!
We've never been successful at growing tomatoes until this summer.  We have had a perfect amount to keep us stocked with tomatoes.  It's fun for the kids to go out everyday and pick them.
My Grandparents celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.  And I found out they eloped.  I love my grandparents so much and I am so thankful that I have been blessed by spending so much time with them.  The kids were happy to spend time with their cousins during the dinner for my Grandparents.

Cam got a Balloon Bonanza for his birthday.  It was actually pretty amazing.  They didn't all work but more than 1/2 did.  It was way better than filling up individual water balloons!

Cait has a new found love for Tin Tin.  I recently picked up a Tin Tin book from the library for Cam but it was Cait who has spent HOURS (literally!) looking at the pictures.  Every day, that has been her favorite thing to do.  We had to take back the library copy but we bought 3 books for her and even found these old Tin Tin cartoons that follow the books perfectly!  I'm not sure what she likes so much about them but I love seeing her show such an interest in books!  She isn't reading yet but she's so close!
The kids went to Granny's for a week.  I cleaned the house from top to bottom (above is my odd assortment of treasures that I found), Daddy and I had FIVE dates and I got to take a trip with some friends!  I think it was win-win all the way around.
Cait & Lily had a blast playing with their new friend at Granny's.

Cam turns NINE!

Today marks nine years since we had our second son, Cam.  It's been a fun experience being his parents.  This morning we celebrated with donuts and this afternoon, daddy gave him his birthday present: a Lego table that he designed and built!
Then JC whisked him off on a surprise adventure!

Memorial Day Weekend

(this post got lost in the shuffle...I didn't realize I had not posted it)
Granny's grandkids surrounded her to help wash baby Joycelyn in her kitchen sink.

PawPaw and his red, white & blue girls!
Daddy, Lily, Uncle Aaron & Joycelyn
The highway home was flooded so we got to take a scenic route through the wildlife refuge.  The skies were amazingly beautiful and it was a treat to see the mountains and animals.
