Baby broke her leg!

So, on September 6th, Lily was up later than usual due to a late afternoon nap.  She was walking barefoot down our hall which was free of all clutter and halfway down, she just fell and cried in pain.  After comforting her, she would not stand on her right leg.  We gave her some advil and she went to bed.  

The next morning, she slid out of bed like normal and immediately upon adding weight to her leg, she fell again and cried in pain.  JC & I quickly got dressed and headed out to the Urgent Care Clinic.

 Sure enough, Lily had some freak of nature accident that caused a "buckle" fracture on her leg.

 Monday morning, we were fortunate to be able to get an early morning doctor appointment with a pediatric orthopedic specialist.  He said her bones looked good and that she must have just stepped wrong.  He put a cast on her for 3 weeks and said as soon as she felt comfortable on it, it was okay to walk on.

 A week later, the 13th, she was crawling a little bit but not standing on her leg yet.  She played in the sand at Aunt Laura's house while sister and brothers swam.

With both feet...

After 12 weeks, Cam is wearing 2 shoes again!  Not completely out of the woods but making big steps!

Third Week of Summer

Wednesday: More Lego Play!

Thursday: Cam graduated to a boot!

Yay!  He can walk!

After the doctor appointment we had a little medical excitement with Granny.

It was a long day for Cait!  This was her second nap of the day!

Another birthday gift!  Thank you, Granny & PawPaw!

We took Granny home Friday night.  

JC & Bren got to remove a decaying coon from the kitchen wall.  

After all of that, we had a pretty uneventful Saturday.

(love the "teen" look!  I think he was tired!)

We celebrated Father's Day with Richard then headed home.  

What a week!

First Week of Summer

The first couple pictures aren't from this week but I forgot to share them.

Cameron really enjoyed his treats to help time go by with his casts.  This was a really fun one from the Ablas!

And the Abla's spent one day with us.  The kids had a blast making a MESS with shaving cream & paint.  The project was to make marbled paper.  They preferred to paint their bodies!

Cait LOVES scissors!  LOVES!  I think she asks to use them daily!

Lily has been in a great mood lately.  She even rolled over this week!

So, Saturday, Dad, Cait and Cam played around with baking soda, vinegar and balloons!

Monday we took family pictures and ate lunch at PF Changs.  That was enough to exhaust us all!

Tuesday: Q-Tip Painting

Wednesday: Lego Play

Thursday: Homemade Playdough!  (I didn't know it had to be cooked!)

And phonics!

Friday: Caramel Popcorn!

We've also enjoyed a tote of toys that have been in the garage (toy rotation!) and listening to nursery rhymes and play songs.  Cait has enjoyed her new little plastic pool and the kids have been eating their snacks out of ice cube trays this week.  Cam does a little bit of school while Cait and Lily sleep and then he gets a little bit of electronics time.  He has been playing the old school Mario.  I surprised him one day by playing with him.  He had NO clue mom could play and was surprised when I whooped him on it! It's been a great week.  11 days until someone turns 2.  13 days until cast removal!  Summer Movie Fun starts up next week and we might even try to make it to a couple library events.

A new set of...legs?

Full Leg Cast: Days 2 & 4

On Day 2, Cam got his first signatures on his cast from Aunt Jessica & Uncle Aaron.  

 On Day 4, playing Wii.  Cam's been banned from saying the word "bored" already!  Mama's gonna have to get creative!!!  Yikes!
