Sunday Catch Up

Remember Spidy? We found her near the roof one morning. She left us a gift the next morning. She's back in her normal spot now. I try not to think about that little gift and what will happen one, unsuspecting, morning!
After 60+ days of 100+ degrees, we are sure enjoying a lot of time outside these days.
Cait would be happy to be outside all day, everyday. She especially loves playing on the slide with Cam.
The other day, she went to get her toy "laptop", carried it to her little chair and began to do her "work". So cute to see them mimicking!
We had a little science experience where we put a whole, raw egg into a jar of white vinegar. After two days, the egg shell had dissolved and you could see straight through to the yolk.
JC wanted to slice the egg but it was up to Cam and he chose smashing it outside. Pretty interesting.

Cam has learned some camera poses from his big bro, apparently! I am just blessed each time I see my children showing each other kindness and love without any prompting.
We have a full week of school and then... we're taking a week off to celebrate someone's 16th birthday!!! I can't wait!

Someone wants to say hi!

Hi!
We counted ten fingers and ten toes!
And I'm glad there's already pink in the house!

We're excited to introduce to you our new little girl!

Looks like we'll have a winter birthday of late February.

Frontier City Fun

After church, we went to Frontier City. Brendan brought two friends from church. Our credit union had $5 tickets plus free parking so it was a great bargain for us. We haven't been in 7 years which means the little two have never gone.
Cait was pretty in purple as we waited in the LONG, hot line so Cam could float a canoe through a waterway and a tepee. The kids area was packed. It wasn't a great way to start off but the day improved as the evening came; crowds lessened and temps cooled. It turned into a perfect day.

JC & I rode several rides with the kids including the antique cars and the carousel. Cam loved his dragon but Cait was a little concerned.
We caught up with the boys in time for a jailbird picture. Bren and his friends had a great time riding all the roller coasters. I was thankful he had friends to hang out with.
Bren tried to win a super sized stuffed animal for Cait but he just couldn't climb the ladder without flipping. Oh well. It was entertaining and a nice gesture from big brother.
Cam was a little nervous in the Ferris wheel but overall it was fun. Cait wanted to get down and explore. No fear in that little girl!
If you click on the below picture, JC & Bren are in the second to last seats and his friends are in the last. Looks like JC is yelling! Fun times!
While daddy rode a few rides with the big boys, I took the little two back to the nearly empty kids area to run and play. We closed down the house at 9 p.m. completely worn out but happy.
Bren's friends live in Blanchard so after a quick stop by Braums and dropping them off, it was after 11 p.m. by the time we made it home. I asked Cam this morning if he had fun and he said "no". I inquired as to why and he said we left too early. Whew.

Back to PE

We go to Piedmont for PE on Fridays and this past Friday was our first day back for the year. It was also the first time Cam could participate. He had been looking forward to this day for awhile. The church we usually use for PE was not available so we had PE outside this week. It was a beautiful day to outside for 2 hours.
I thought it was super cute Cam & Bren playing with the parachute together. Usually Cam will have PE the first hour and Bren the second hour. They played together this week.
Messy head was, of course, a mess the whole time. She loved running around outside for 2 hours. She also loved grabbing every drink she could find to drink out of. Probably explains the runny nose today.
They took a group picture before we left. It's a pretty good size group of kids. Both kids had a blast! I also signed Cam up to take music lessons with the group during Bren's PE time. I think he'll like that!

Meet Cam's friend: Spidey

This is Spidey. Or Goldy.
It depends on if you ask Cam or daddy.
She has made her home above my mint garden.
I no longer get mint from the garden.
Now, THIS, is an evil, nasty thing that prevented me from growing tomatoes.
Well, this one and many more.
Go ahead. Click on the picture to get a better view of'em.
Another shot of Spidey.
And her glorious web.
(Sorry Amanda, hope this doesn't make you queasy.)
This is Cam's hand, holding the evil, nasty thing.
He's about to toss it into the web and feed Spidey.
Things I would NEVER do before I became a homeschool mom!
It took Spidey all of 30 seconds to wrap that sucker up and have a big, fat dinner.
For fun, daddy & Cam also feed Spidey (or Goldy) junebugs, flies and well, anything else they can catch. It's been an interesting learning experience, to say the least.

A Contradiction!

Little miss messy head (AKA Cait) is quite the little contradiction these days. So sweet. So ornery! She sure keeps us busy.

This picture is from about a month ago. We stopped by the Dairy Queen in Chickasha and she thoroughly enjoyed eating part of my ice cream cone!
A lazy Sunday snuggle session.
Cait loves to empty my purse and my wallet.
So I bought her her own purse...
Even shades to put in it.
She still likes my purse best.
Her favorite things to say (really yell) are "HEY" when she doesn't get her way and "BOO" when she wants you to "BOO" her!

I can't remember what she ate here.
All I know is I was not smart for letting her eat it in a white shirt!
She loves drinking out of daddy's water jug.
It's nearly the same size as she is!
These two...
Gramma, she still loves playing with her mini kitchen!
We're back to school, full time this week. Except tomorrow when daddy has a day off. JC had an interview yesterday. We are hopeful and should know something by the end of next week. We are excitedly awaiting cooler temps this week; seems like it has been in the 100s for months. I guess it has. We are also preparing to celebrate a special birthday around here. Wonder who's that could be...
