Friday was JC's first day back at work. Two and a half months flew by and this event was bitter sweet. We were hopeful that he would have a different job by now. But he hasn't so we'll carry on. With JC back at work, it allows for more structure during the days. Structure is good for this mama! And with JC back to work, I won't be working like I have been. I have agreed to work 4 hours a week outside of the home through probably mid-October. The kids and I are going to enjoy a week of playing before hitting the ground running on the 22nd with school.
I have a hodgepodge of pictures from the last two weeks. I am certain we'll have lots more to post of our week of play!

My sister invited us to dinner at the end of July. Well, the main event of the day was Uncle Mike teaching Brendan to make a sheath for his knife. Outside. In the over 100 degree weather! The two little ones and I had a play date with Les and her two. Les was very kind to have Bella and Cam help cook dinner. Cam has always helped me in the kitchen but I've never let him stir something on the stove! This was a pretty big deal!

Bren has had a pretty lazy summer, once Sooner Flight Academy was over. He's read several books and done small amounts of math and drivers ed. He helped dad out at Granny's house and her rental property and he had to help dad out a lot while mom worked. I'm sure he's grateful that I'll be home again!

We have put our house up for sale. What we do if/when it sells will be determined by JC's job at the time. We have been trying to clean up and "stage" the house but it is pretty difficult with little ones. I need to give up my HGTV clean house dreams!
Cait. Silly Cait. She is always into mischief these days. She gets into the cats water a lot. This time I caught her I had to laugh. And take a picture! She was putting her plastic bunnies in the water and when she took them out, she dried them on a kleenex and then put them into the bowl.

Cousin Bella had a wonderful Candy Land 5th birthday party. It was great fun and Les did a great job on the decorations and treats.

My mom or dad caught this picture of Cait snuggled up to my Grampa. It was super sweet!

Speaking of sweet, this is the Candy Land cake my mom made for the party. It was delish, of course!

If you haven't had a baby lately, you might not have seen these baby food pouches. I think they are one of the greatest baby (older baby/toddler) creations! The have a little straw at the top and Cait loves them! They are great on the go or when Cait needs a little snack between meals. And almost always mess-free!

Cait has a new found love of shoes. Cam's shoes, mom's shoes, it really doesn't matter. As we've cleaned out the house, I came across a bag of shoes from my dear friend Sara that are still a little big for Cait. However, that did not stop Cait from wanting to wear most of them. But these sweet black shoes were the best. They are those squeaky shoes. So every step she took surprised her and made us laugh. It was a fun 5-10 minutes.

Brendan took this picture of Cait this past week. We've finally had some relief from the weeks of over 100 degrees. Several days we had wonderful rain showers and on this day, JC opened the doors and windows and gave our A/C a break. Cait LOVES being outside and enjoyed having some ability to come and go as she pleased.
JC did have an interview Wednesday. We are hopeful.
Brendan starts 10th grade and Cam starts kindergarten. Very different things to teach but yet we do a lot of learning together. As long as we're on this side of town, we'll travel weekly to Piedmont for PE. Cam is excited to join the younger kid's PE class this year. We're looking forward to a great year.
