Hobbs Report

I had lot of fun on my mission trip to Hobbs, NM. Hobbs is a town in the middle of no where with a population around thirty thousand . It is five minutes from the Texas border. There is not much grass in Hobbs.

I helped With VBS taking kids from drama to games to snacks to art's and crafts to story. One day at games we played dodge ball with sponges; it was fun. It meant a lot to be an example of Christ to the kids.

The church recently bought some land and we helped pick it up. Our group had a lot fun getting to know each other. One day after VBS we went to Carlsbad Caverns. We went one mile under ground. The temperature was 64 degrees in the caverns.

I can't wait until next year!

Note from Mom: Even though Brendan had 4 (yes, FOUR) disposable cameras, this is the only picture he took of his trip - and it was on his cell phone!!! It's from the caverns, in case you can't tell!!!

Hot Summer Days = Pool Time

We had a fun, swim-filled weekend in Lawton.

What long arms you have, Cameron!

We enjoyed dog-sitting Skoka!

Cameron thought he was hot stuff with his "wings"!

Cameron's trying to outdo Brendan in the wild hair contest!

I had to bribe Brendan with food for this photo!

Great Read

Boyhood and Beyond: Practical Wisdom for Becoming a Man (Paperback) by Bob Schultz
I recommend for anyone with boys ages 8 or older! We checked it out at the library but we plan to purchase it!

Dadfest 2009

Dadfest at our church Sunday! Lots of food, games and fun!

Brendan loves the mechanical bull!

The Tuttle Tiger Safari people where there with this cute tiny lemur, a snake, a turtle, a ferret and several other animals.

Cameron wouldn't let the young lady paint his face or hand but he would let her paint his knee! It's a dino...

A Week Apart

Brendan left Sunday morning for his first missions trip. Here's the group gathering for prayer before they left.
Sweet hugs
There goes my (big!) baby!

Wow! Fancy bus!

JC left the same day for two weeks of training in Stillwater. He'll come home for a quick Father's Day weekend.
Cameron has run a fever off and on since Sunday. This was Monday - sacked out for a few hours.
I've tried to make a purse and a skirt. Neither very successful. Oh well. I'll post more when Brendan gets home.

Back on Etsy!

I'm BACK on Etsy! Check out my page: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5977227

Here's one of my latest projects. Burp rags! I learned from Modobject at Home.

I LOVE hand embroidery and I'm branching out to learn new things to do with it and new ways to do it!

Having a baby? Guess what you're getting?!

I've also taught myself to do applique. This is really fun and challenging. Lots of ideas...so lots of projects to keep me busy! These are kitchen towels that I made for a gift!

Welcome Home, Lutz

Words cannot express how amazing it was to be a part of Brad Lutz's Welcome Home Ceremony Tuesday morning. I'm proud to be a part of your lives and I'm thankful for your service to our country. Love you guys!!!

Pictures of this and that

Cameron in a giraffe costume at my mom's house. If you look closely, you can see a great big, cheesy grin on his face!

Aunt Lyn helped Cameron make a costume out of a paper bag. I can't remember if it was a robot or what, but it sure was fun!

What's better for a young boy than having diggers and all sorts of construction machines right outside your Granny's house?!

Long, long ago, my Gramma gave Brendan a little desk. I cleaned out Cam's closet the other day and decided to get it out. He has had so much fun with it! He does all his "school work" at it. It's too precious!

Brendan gives Cameron a ride on the RipStik!

See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. ~Song of Solomon 2:11-13

Playing with Friends & Family

The last week of May we went bowling with our Homeschool co-op. Here are the 2-3 year olds.

Cameron had fun with this.

So did Bren

This past weekend, our friends came over for food and play. The little ones loved jumping in the trampoline!

Yummy!

Cameron enjoyed spraying Nate & Josie while they jumped!

Today, we went to the spray park with Les and the kids. Bella is SO cute!

They had a skate park next to it and Brendan had a great time trying it out on his RipStik!
