Every Now and Then...

I'm blessed to be able to capture a moment that words can't seem to express.

...be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

~1 Peter 4:7-10

Lonely Boots

I miss my boys...

Anniversary Weekend Fun!

Friday, our actual anniversary was a busy family day. We started by watching Hotel for Dogs and after lunch we went bowling. We finally met Granny and PawPaw in Chickasha to transfer the kids.

We went to Bricktown and after a nice stroll, we ate at Coach's. We rented 6 movies; we each got to pick 3.

Saturday we spent the day with my sis helping her finish laying wood flooring so they can be ready for Bella's 3rd birthday!

Yesterday, after church, JC indulged me in a couple hours of thrift store shopping. Turns out, there's a store in town that has quarter Sunday's. All tags of a certain color are a quarter OR 5 for $1!!! Let me tell you, I did good!!! I'll have to post later about my finds, but I got a black garbage bag full for $21! Yippee!!

After all that digging, it was time for our dinner reservations at The Melting Pot! WOOHOO, I'm finally there!!!

When we got to Bricktown, we were early so we walked over to an old friends new Candy Store in Bricktown. He sells candy, gelato and soda in bottles! The boys will love this place!

We ate delicious cheese fondue with bread, veggies and apples. Then a wonderful salad. Next, our main course: two types of steak, lobster, shrimp, chicken, pork and more!

I couldn't get a good picture of us...but at least you can tell we're having fun! Dinner took 2 hours to eat! We had a blast!

As if we hadn't eaten enough, here's our dessert! Cheesecake, brownies, bananas, strawberries and more to dunk into chocolate!

After our wonderful dinner, we went to see Star Trek. It was a good movie, though a little intense for my liking!
We've had a wonderful anniversary weekend and we're going to spend the next three days preparing JC's class for school to start. Thank you, family, for giving us such fabulous gifts that we can enjoy such a weekend! We are truly spoiled by you all!!!

Grapevine, Dallas & Ft. Worth in 2 days!

Monday morning took us from Lawton to Grapevine, TX for a yummy lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. With the exception of Cami freaking out with the crocodile at the entrance, we had a really fun time.

Check out this dessert! It could've fed 10 people!

JC & I took pictures in honor of Stegmann :-)

After a quick jot through Dallas, we headed to Ft. Worth.

We pulled up in front of our hotel just in time to see the 4 p.m. cattle drive through the Stockyards. How fun!

Here's a picture of our hotel, right-smack-dab-in-the-middle of the Stockyards
After checking into our hotel, we walked next door to the old train depot that is now full of stores and restaurants. Here's the gang sitting outside of the Candy Barrel.

After playing around at the Stockyard Station, Brendan, JC & Cameron raced through the Cowtown Cattlepen Maze.

Brendan made it out in 10 minutes!

JC & Cam took a little longer...

Gross! On the tops of the maze walls were rats (fake, of course)

We went to the famous Billy Bob's Texas for dinner. Food, dancing, drinking, pool, arcade, shopping...you name it, they have it!

Brendan had some HUGE chicken strips - they were yummy!

Walking back from our hotel, we ran into this steer, named Lonestar.

This man was just standing in the street, letting people sit on his steer and taking pictures for them. Tips, kindly accepted, of course!

Preparing to check out Tuesday morning...

This was our view of the Stockyards from our hotel room

Margaret took the boys down to watch the morning cattle drive while JC & I packed up our room. But, we stopped to watch the longhorns go by from our room.

After leaving the Stockyards, we went to Joe T Garcia's for lunch. A must if you're in Ft. Worth.

We had some of the best Mexican food, GREAT service and they have the most beautiful, humongous floral patio I've ever seen.

We stopped by the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, which currently houses the Ft. Worth Science Museum (Omniplex). The kids had a fun time playing before we got back on the road.

And we're "on the road again"...

Last, but NOT least, a trip to Texas isn't complete without a stop at Dairy Queen.

A few more pictures...

of Cameron's birthday. Thanks, Gramma, for taking so many great ones.
