Aunt Dani's 50th Birthday Party

My aunt Dani's birthday party was Saturday at Rt. 66 Park. It was a beautiful day & a fun party! Her daughter, Kelly Jo, did a fantastic job!!!

April 25th Field Trip: Recycling & the City Dump

A homeschool group we belong to put together a Field Trip in honor of Earth Day. The kids did lessons and games that involved recycling and then we took a trip to the landfill. The sad part is my camera batteries died before we got to the landfill. And the extra batteries in my bag were also dead! Bummer. Well, here are some of the pictures from game/lesson time.







It was a fun day. It was chilly & windy but Cameron & I managed to get sunburned! The landfill was really neat. The manager took us to the top of the "hill" and we got to learn so much. It really inspired us moms to recycle more!!! That was a LOT of trash!

Another Proud Accomplishment

Well, I'm proud; JC accomplished!

Today was JC's final teaching observation (he has to be observed by the principle, his mentor teacher and a university representative several times!)!!! The university rep. signed off on his Resident Teaching Certification. He's already taken, and passed, all the teaching certification tests so now he sends in this form (and a nice, little fee) and he'll be fully certified as a teacher for 5 years!

I knew this would be no problem since the state is desperate for teachers but it was good to know it's done & over and JC can keep on teaching! Woo-hoo!

I do, still, struggle with the making the bed thing. Oh well, maybe some day! :-)

Brendan VS The Mud Hole

Well, he IS a boy! I think he could (and maybe he did) play in the mud for HOURS!

This is the future site of my veggie garden. We finished digging out the weeds today and loosening up the ground. Made for a perfect mud hole!

Clematis Blessings

I have been blessed with BEAUTIFUL Clematis flowers in my front yard (from the previous owners attempt at curb appeal, my guess). They have really bloomed the last few days and I just love them!

During our time at the park, Brendan took the wheels out of his heelies. Cameron picked them up from the bench I sat on and tried to put them into his shoes! He wants to be like Brendan so much!!!





I've given up worrying about the little tike. He's small in size for his age but has no problem with his courage!

Updates & This and That

Brendan had 3 teeth pulled yesterday & 2 cavities filled. That went mostly fine and Brendan is no longer numb and not complaining of pain. He didn’t mind his chocolate shake and choice of food for lunch!

We took Cameron to his doctor (well, PA). She was most impressed that Cameron wasn’t having a fit at the sight of the doctor’s office. Cameron cried a little but allowed her to look in his ears and throat, take his pulsox and listen to his back & chest. All seems pretty well with him. We did breathing treatments Sunday but haven’t had to do any since. She did give us permission to let Cameron play outside. This was the biggest problem…the ER PA said no outside. That doesn’t sit well with my baby! So, that’s where he is right now.

Crazy days

I have a ton of pictures on my computer and each day I think...tonight I'll blog. Ugh, it's 10:30 again and pictures are still on the camera. We've been having fun this week and I can't wait to get them up. Maybe tomorrow.

Cameron hasn't slept well the last two nights, due to what I thought was a cold or allergies. Today began having difficulty breathing and some wheezing too. I took him to the ER and waited and waited. Fortunately Cam slept nearly the whole time we were there. His breathing got worse, he puked on me and finally. they took us back. They gave his a shot of steriods in his leg and swabbed his nose for RSV. They took xrays (something Cameron really, really doesn't like!) and did two breathing treatments. RSV and pnemonia were negative...looks like probably asthma. We were sent home this evening with more steriods, antibiotic and a nebulizer to do more breathing treatments. Cam finally went to sleep almost an hour ago and I'm exhausted. He's still short of breath and I'm trying not to worry. I'm only even on here because I couldn't help but check out Amanda's log! (Love the garden pics!) Brendan was such a big helper today. I was glad when Gramma and Papa swung by the ER to pick him up. It would've been a really long day for him.

Oklahoma History Center

Monday we took a field trip to the OK History Center. This was our first trip and Brendan & I agreed that this is the best Oklahoma History museum we've been to. They had a "Scavenger Hunt" form that asked questions about each area. Every area had touch screen monitors and tons of interactive stuff. Here are just a few pictures from our day.
