January Logistics

Lots of playing and wardrobe fun this month.

Cait barely weighs enough to register on Wii Fit!

She loves tutus!

Cam got lots of science projects for Christmas.  His triop lived about 3 weeks.

This girl is a mess!  Cait used to enjoy doing the same thing.  Lily sure can make a mess FAST!

This past Saturday was the first time we've had a full day outing in a very long time.  We started our day in Anadarko serving with friends at the Regional Food Bank.  Our friends co-own the Oakridge Camp out there and it was lots of fun checking out the camp after lunch.  We even got to see their farm animals!  If you click on the picture above, you can see Bren on a gigantic swing (right in the middle)!
Then we gave our friends a tour of the Wichita Wildlife Refuge.  JC & Bren took our friends and Cam and went hiking up Charon's Gardens.
The girls and I stayed behind and explored the area.  Afterwards, we had dinner in Lawton.  It was a great day!
In December, I read a book called Large Family Logistics.  Even though I don't consider our family large, the book was one of the most practical books I've ever read.  It has helped me organize my days better and take care of my husband, kids and home in a more effective way.  I hope to share more with you soon!

11 Months!

Our littlest princes is ELEVEN months old today! She is way too mobile for pictures like these!  Little Lily sure doesn't stay still much these days.  She crawls all over the house and has begun trying to climb on things as well.  She stands up often and regularly "let's go" and stands unassisted.  She is smiling more than she ever has.  She claps for herself, too.  She likes playing with balls, remotes and phones.  She loves getting into the dishwasher, cat food and Wii games.  Most days she takes two naps.  She eats table food and occasionally she will eat baby food also.  She probably likes bananas the best.  Lily has also started a very high pitched yell, generally at dinner time while she is in her high chair.  The funny thing is that she doesn't seem to be upset, just yelling!

The first birthday party plans are started!  We can't wait to celebrate next month!

Christmas & New Years '12

I have to laugh at our Christmas morning because it started out unlike most houses.  I was up first around 8 and then Cam woke around 8:30.  He came out and laid on the couch without speaking.  I turned on cartoons for him and sick Cait woke after 9 and joined Cam.  JC and Lily woke closer to 10 and then I finally stuck my head in Bren's room to wake him.  After I fixed breakfast of sausages and cinnamon rolls, we read the Bible and slowly began opening gifts.  It was nearly noon before a present was opened!!!  It was nice not to be in a hurry.

Lily was most interested in the wrapping paper and Cait felt so bad that she didn't even want to open anything.  (She had been puking for 24 hours)

It was fun to wake up to a lovely dusting of snow.  Not a massive Christmas storm but a white Christmas nonetheless.  A perfect afternoon for a fire!

We packed up the sick kids and spent some time at my mom's house.  Mom and dad made a delicious Christmas dinner and we had fun with my sisters and their families.

Wednesday morning we headed to Lawton to spend some time with Granny and PawPaw.

The girls were sick most of the time there but it was nice to have more help during that time!  Not exactly restful but it was nice to not have all the housekeeping to do!
We had a fun time visiting with the Tinkers while we were in Lawton.  We always enjoy our time together.  I love how the cousins play together!

After church in Carnegie, Cam got a ride in our friend's Tow-Mater with dad.  He thought that was pretty cool!
We came home Sunday night so JC could go to work on Monday.  We ended the year with a "bang" at Grammas and Papas.  They made lots of yummy snack foods and bought poppers for the grandkids.
We are so blessed to have so much family and I am thankful that our kids are growing up with lots of cousins.  They love playing together and it is a blessing to my heart!  Even though Bren is a lot older than everyone, it is fun to watch him play with -and pester- all the younger cousins!

Happy New Year!
