A New Sport for the Lad
Mom & Dad were taking Golf Lessons and had Bren along one time. The instructor didn't mind, so Bren continued with his lessons. He has found a sport that he really enjoys! Here are a couple shots mom took the last time they were out.

The Rest of JC's Birthday
JC's actual birthday was Sunday. We had a hard time deciding what to do! So, after a looonnng trip to Home Depot, we decided to take the OK River Cruise. But when we got there, we found out they were charging an extra $5 per person ($27 was now $42) because they had a band on the boat.
We opted out and decided just to go to Bricktown. On the way, we decided to use the free parking in the downtown area and take a trolley into Bricktown. Who knew the trolley was only a quarter a person! How fun!!!

We got off the trolley at the Bass Pro shop. 
The boys had fun shooting things...until the wild hog came out of a cave & spooked Cameron!
So, we posed for our own pic!
After Bass Pro, we walked to Sonic for a snack. As we were getting ready to catch a trolley back to our car, we saw this statue by the Harkins Theater.
But, it wasn't a statue. It was a guy!!!
I thought you only saw stuff like this in Hollywood!!! We watched for a few minutes and left. We rode our trolley back and I think, overall, JC had a splendid birthday!

Why I Love Homeschooling
The following is a daily publication from Alpha Omega Publication called "Daily Focus".
I love homeschooling because fixed hours aren't required to learn a subject.When I discovered God had given me a night owl who loved to sleep in, I simply adjusted and made a schedule that worked best for our family.
I love homeschooling because there are so many fun things to learn. Not only are there great curriculum for covering the main subject areas, but there are also countless extracurricular topics and activities to explore. We once spent an entire week studying birds of prey when we found a wounded hawk in our yard after a severe wind storm.
I love homeschooling because I have the flexibility to adjust our day depending on what God brings. If my child is grasping concepts quickly and wants to know more in language arts, great; I'll keep going and forget about doing history that day. If Dad has an impromptu meeting in another city, I can take advantage of the opportunity and schedule a family field trip.
I love homeschooling because it gives me an opportunity to really know my children. As teacher and parent, I see both their heart and mind and have the blessed privilege to develop both in the Lord.
I love homeschooling because I don't have to wait until school's out at 3:30p.m. to receive a hug and a kiss. I have the joy of loving and being loved by my children throughout the entire day.
"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked" (Ephesians 6:16).
Lord, thank You for giving me the opportunity to teach my children. Even though tough days will come, I know Your presence will guide us through. Help me appreciate the blessing of teaching my children each day. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

End of Year Homeschool Party
Whew! I have enjoyed being the party planner for our Homeschool group this year. We had a nice Christmas cookie decorating party, a fun Valentine's day party and now our end of year cookout.
We originally scheduled this for the first Tuesday in May but it was rained out. So last Friday, we tried again.
JC & I were responsible for buying, bringing & cooking the meat. Everyone else signed up for side dishes, desserts, drinks.
"Everyone" ended up being about 100 people!!!
I think JC grilled for 2 hours straight!!! Here he is, 60 hamburgers and (I think) 80 dogs later...
See how much food 100 people can bring???!!!
I actually got Cameron to sit still for a whole 3 minutes!
Brendan, however, was quite busy on his new Ripstick. He loves that thing. It makes me very nervous!

Happy Birthday, JC
JC wanted beer and pool for his birthday. I didn't quite surprise him with a party but he was surprised that his brother (and his family) and his Mom & Richard where there!
We played lots of pool, ate lots of food...
That was Saturday. Sunday, his actual birthday, the boys & I got him a few gifts, including REAL, European licorice. (Yuck, if you ask me. But no one did!)
I'll post more about the rest of his birthday adventures in another post!

I wanted to have mom make something funny on JC's cake. I thought long and hard about what to put on it.
Confession time: I struggle with being respectful to my husband sometimes.
Fortunately, we can look back on our difficulties and laugh. We've gotten in the habit of say JC's the Master....

Ostrich Egg Breakfast
Every year the Okc Zoo has an Ostrich Egg Breakfast the Saturday before Mother's Day. This year, Gramma & Papa took the boys, along with Jess, Aaron & Taelyn.
They have TONS of food and I think the omelets are actually made with Ostrich Eggs.
Cameron, being a young man that doesn't like eggs, went straight for the Krispy Kreme donuts!
Brendan's seconds...or maybe thirds?
Even though it was a bit rainy, I think all had fun!
The gorilla always loves to sit next to Cameron when he sits by the glass!
The Zoo has had a Dino exhibit for a couple of months but this was the first time for Cameron to see it.
This big T-Rex was robotic. It even roars!
It worried him a little!
After seeing this robotic T-Rex, Cameron frequently says, "That T-Rex was just a robot", "Dinosaurs aren't alive anymore" and other such factual statements. It's like he's reassuring himself that it wasn't real. 
Look! Taelyn (6 months old) is nearly as big as Cameron!!!
