Friday was my day to drive! Man oh man!
We got up at an early hour
(I actually WOKE both boys up for this one!) and headed to the far southeast part of Norman. We drove for an hour to find the
Little River Zoo.
I've heard of this place but haven't been there and really didn't know what it was. We went with our home school group from Mustang. I will tell you, it was
WELL WORTH the early wake up
AND the long drive. I think I paid $8 for Brendan & I to get in.
Most of the animals are wild but people had tried to have them as pets. All guests of the zoo get a full tour and we got to touch many of the animals. Here are "just a few" pictures!

Cameron petting a skunk...the owner had removed it's
sprayer.

Brendan
hangin' out with the guys

Cameron
chillin' with the kids

She brought out a wild kitty for us all to pet!
(Lynx, maybe?)
And a
biiiiigggg lizard - Cami really liked touching this one!

We got to go into the pin with the kangaroos and feed them bread.

There were many roosters and peacocks wandering around. Some had beautiful colors!

They had many types of monkeys. They were pretty obnoxious!

We got to feed goats, a lamb, potbelly pigs and llamas

They had several foxes; the white one (above) and red (below)

3 black bears

A really pretty turkey
(as pretty as a turkey can get, I imagine!)
We got to pet several turtles

There were 4 very friendly porcupines

Two wolves
(each were part dog)

Anyway, our tour was about 2 hours then we ate a picnic lunch on the grounds and got to meet more animals after lunch. This place was great & our tour guide did a fantastic job! I can't believe I've lived here as long as I have and I'm just getting to check out some of these great places!
So after a long day, I came home to pack my
Uppercase Living suitcases
(that I got free on FreeCycle) because I had a Open House
all the way out in Harrah, OK. It was about a 45 minute drive, one way. But we had a great time, as always. I got to make new friends and share this fun stuff with others!
I have 9 parties already booked in October (YAY!) and one more who is supposed to reschedule for October. I also have 2 already for November! I'm really excited and pleased that this product sells itself! LOVE IT!
