My Baby Girl Turns FIVE

Five years ago, God changed our lives.  "Baby Cait" added softness and girly pink to our lives.  She added spunk and lots of smiles.

After two boys, Cait was beauty we didn't know we were missing.
 One Year Old
 Two Years Old
   Three Years Old
  Four Years Old

  FIVE Years Old!!!
This little cutie pie turned FIVE on Friday.  Friday was celebration started with birthday donuts.
Then Granny surprised her with a very girly pink bike!  Do you see that look of joy?  She learned to ride Cam's so she was up and going instantly!

Cait chose salad for dinner so we had a yummy dinner at Panera.

Saturday morning was our new tradition of Birthday Dress shopping.  Cait loved the first dress from the beginning and was reluctant to try on any more.
We were not surprised that she picked the first dress.
Back home for lunch, Cait chose salad again!  This time we had a nice salad buffet so everyone could pick their favorites.
Momma made dark chocolate cupcakes with strawberry filling and cream cheese frosting.  Cait and Lily decorated the cupcakes.

Cait was so kind and thoughtful, she let her cousin Alex, Lily and Cam each open one of her gifts.

It's just another beautiful side of Cait.
Cait, Daddy, Cam and Lily putting together birthday Legos.  She was excited to get two "girl" sets!
And after everyone had gone home, Cait and Daddy raced down our street.  And Cait won!!!

Happy Birthday, Sweet (not so baby) Cait!

Saturday afternoon at the park

Grandpa and Grandma came for a visit on Saturday and after the girl-folk made chicken salad for sandwiches, cole slaw and a fruit salad we headed off to the park by Lake Hefner.
It was a little cool but nearly perfect day for lots of play.  Look at Lily!  She climbed to the top with no fear!
Cait and Lily worked very hard to wear Grandma out!  Bren worked just as hard to stay out of a photo!

After our picnic dinner, we took a short walk to see the lake and back.
Grandma and Grandpa brought some early birthday presents for our soon to be FIVE year old!
A couple more minutes of play, "pleeeeaaasssssssse?!"

Cait was quite determined that it wasn't time to leave!  What a fun day!
And here's that soon to be FIVE year old wearing the cute outfit Grandma picked out for her.  It fits her well, including her personality!  Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa for coming to visit!

More May Moments

Bren had another bass recital.  He has become such a great player and it is such a blessing to mama to hear him play.  Of course, what is a recital with out ice cream?
I am so grateful for this family. I thank God for our health, provisions through JC's work and extra savings through mine, our special times together as a family.
Cait had a second opinion on a mole on her head.  The first doctor wanted to surgically remove it but the doctor at Children's thought she was okay.  We are grateful for that, too!

One of our favorite daily activities is to watch the birds at our feeder out our front window.  We have had a pair of male cardinals and a pair of male blue jays this week along with our regular house finches, grackles and mourning doves.  We have also enjoyed planting flowers and seeing their blooms. My clematis are so beautiful this year.  They must be enjoying all this rain.  One of my succulents came back so I only bought one more for the pot this year.  Cait & Lily picked out petunias and merigolds for their flower pot.  JC & the kids gave me a beautiful water fountain for the yard for Mother's Day.  This is definitely a happy place for this mama.
My sweet husband seems to always be on a repair project.  I am so grateful God has blessed him with the "handy gene" and a heart that gives so freely to this family.

Our baby turns 3!

 Lily, newborn
 1st Birthday
2nd Birthday
Birthday number 3 was a hit with lots of pink, shopping for a new dress and a pink 3 layer cake with chocolate frosting!

We are so thankful for this little girl.  She is smart and full of energy, smiles and love.  She is creative and shy, she loves having her hair braided, girly pink stuff and singing.

Busy Days

Note to self: Do not give this child chocolate in the car!
After camping, the girls got into our firewood pile and made their own pretend camp fire!
Oklahoma season.  Always confused. The kids were happy for an early snow.
Silly girls found the boy's ski masks!
Finding joy. Making my work spots happy places.  This is my kitchen window over my sink.  Scriptures and a rock from the Bahamas, kids crafts and a colorful fence.  These things remind me what is important and make me smile.
