Funny things, July 4th & early birthday parties

It's been a long time since my last post. Life has been super busy and going back to work has taken a lot of my time. I'm glad to be working for great people/friends, but I am so very thankful to be a stay at home mom.
These pictures are before the record breaking weeks of 100+ degree weather that has killed our grass.
Cait seems to get herself into lots of predicaments like this one!
Lunch was so bad, he fell asleep while sitting at the table.
Silly costumes that don't fit, at all!
Fresh from the garden pickles! They ended up being WAY too salty, but I rinsed them and put them back in a water/vinegar solution without salt and they taste pretty good.
Fourth of July in Lawton: Swimming, food & friends. All fireworks were banned this year due to the drought.
Check out my red, white & blue strawberries! So pretty {even with her crazy, messy hair!}
Cameron celebrated his 5th birthday 8 days early with my family during our monthly dinner get together. Gramma made this cake for him and he told her, "It's just how I told you to make it!" The exasperated look is because I kept asking him to look at me & smile. He wanted to look at the cake.
He almost fell into the cake while blowing out his candle! He had a great time celebrating with mom's side of the family. He has some more celebrating to do later this week! His official birthday is Sunday.

Brendan is back at OU, this week he is taking his flight camp. He already got to fly today and will fly again on Wednesday. On June 27th, Brendan took the state required reading test so that he can apply for his driving permit. This was the first "outside" test we have done since we began homeschooling. We were elated when Brendan passed ABOVE 10th grade level!!! {He will start 10th grade officially in August/September! We are so proud of how far Brendan has come through our homeschool journey. Brendan has also been playing volleyball in Blanchard every Tuesday with kids from our church. This has been a fun past time for Bren.
