The boys went to Lawton on Saturday. Bren had a week off work and was ready to relax and swim. We joined them Tuesday night. This was Cait's first time to swim this summer and she enjoyed the pool. Lily didn't get in, just being outside with all the noise got to her soon enough.
Wednesday was a perfect day for pool time and JC grilled a wonderful meal for us of steaks, dogs and corn (plus cole slaw, deviled eggs and more!).
Granny bought cute bows for the girls but I just couldn't get a good shot of them together. Cait doesn't like anything in her hair!
That night we visited Aunt Nancy. She was kind enough to let Bren shoot some of his fireworks from her driveway.
I think everyone had a good time!
Afterwards we went to Lake Latonka. It was advertised as a legal area to shoot fireworks. And about 10,000 people took them up on it! It was packed and a little scary. The people behind us (below) were shooting fireworks from their campfire! Several people (& kids) in their party were injured in the short time we were there! The upside was we'd never seen so many fireworks in one single area. It would have been great to have a boat on the lake to safely watch them all!
It was a great way to celebrate our Independence. We came home Thursday morning so JC could get back to work. It was a nice, quick little get away! Thanks, Tinkers!
