Margaret and Richard took me and the family out to dinner for my birthday. We enjoyed our family time!
Afterwards, we enjoyed yummy, gooey leftover birthday cake from my mommy.
On the road, Monday morning. We stopped in some small town for lunch at a diner and then walked a bit to a Amish fudge store before making the final leg to our cabin.
It was very neat to see the logging trucks!
Our cabin was just perfect! They even had a Lily sized rocking chair! By the time we got to the cabin, Lily was ready to start walking on her cast! She did great getting around the entire trip!
I enjoyed my coffee every morning on the porch! That was my birthday wish!
Our first day we drove around the lake, ate a picnic lunch, toured the closed nature center's lawn and the Forest Center.
It was beautiful day even though it was a bit warm. We saw this tree with a ton of woodpecker holes.
Tuesday night, JC & I went on a little date to Girls Gone Wine. Wednesday, JC & Bren went on an adventure. I'll cover that in my next post.
Thursday we drove to a museum in Idabel. It had a neat kids area AND it was free!
Remember this island for my next post! :)
The "backyard" of cabin had a nice deck and a hot tub that we didn't use.
Just next to our cabin was this play area and just a bit farther was a Little Tykes cabin.
The kids had a wonderful time outside, playing and gathering treasures. It really was a beautiful place. We didn't see anyone (besides the cleaning crew) our entire stay. It was quiet and peaceful.
The kids also had a blast just playing with the well stocked kitchen! (They had Rachel Ray pots & pans!)
Even though it was warm, we couldn't stay at a cabin without fire. We enjoyed s'mores (JC & I made ours with Reeses PB cups - P'Dub style - and they were over the top good!!!).
PawPaw and Granny were wonderful playmates for the kids!
Our treasures.
Even Cam got to start a fire.
Thursday after the museum and lunch, we drove the magnificent Talimena Drive. Only a few trees had turned but it was still so amazing!
Friday, the rain and cool weather came in just in time for us to depart. We didn't get much site seeing done on the way home but we did make it to Krebs for lunch at Pete's Place. Bren was kind enough to drive us on home. Thankfully we were out of the fog by then.
It was good to have such a relaxing and peaceful vacation and it was good to be home again!

It was indeed a peaceful, wonderful, fun filled vacation - and especially the 24/7 time with the kids!!!!! It is the most special time of my life to have the family together.
Looks like a fun place to relax!
